Case Study 1
Precision Dippings has worked in partnership with another UK manufacturer and international healthcare company to supply rubber components for bowel irrigation systems.
Made from polychloroprene (neoprene) latex and designed for high volume production, we worked to the following rapid product development process to produce rubber balloons, similar in type to catheter balloons:
- Detailed drawing received from medical device manufacturer
- Aluminium moulds designed and sourced to produce required product
- Prototype products produced for initial customer testing
- Identification and trials of various neoprene compounds, to identify the most suitable material
- Further samples produced for clinical trials
- Progression to Production to Levels
- Detailed product specification was agreed

Case Study 2
Latex Rubber Dam
Precision Dippings’ partnership with a global manufacturer of premium dental consumables, resulted in the design and production of a new 3-dimensional latex rubber dam for restorative dentistry treatment.
The rubber dam, which has an anatomical frame to match the contours of the mouth, has been developed in two versions - anterior and posterior - to widen the accessible oral area for the dentist.
We worked closely with the company’s R&D team to develop these products, which can be batch produced using production tooling and a high quality, pure natural rubber latex compound.
In use, this innovative rubber dam offers several advantages to both patient and dentist, including:
- Non-contamination and infection control, from saliva, blood and other debris
- Patient protection from accidental aspiration or ingestion
- Much less preparatory work than with conventional dental dams
- Greater access to the operating and working area
- Patient comfort

Precision Dippings is the very proud UK inventor and manufacturer of Bloccs waterproof cast protector for arms and legs. We have received two manufacturing awards for the design and production of these waterproof plaster cast covers.
Bloccs waterproof plaster cast covers combine our knowhow in making watertight rubber seals used by dry suit manufacturers with our medical market experience. These reusable rubber cast covers remain watertight when fully submerged in water.
