Nitrile
Nitrile is a synthetic latex, a rubber product resulting from research undertaken between the two world wars. Its high resistance to oils and chemicals make it a useful manufacturing material for the automotive (seals) and disposable glove industries. Its temperature range (dry heat) is approximately -40°C – 120°C.
Advantages
Excellent puncture resistance
Excellent tear resistance
Chemical resistant rubber
Oil resistant rubber
Gas resistant rubber
Limitations
Poor flexibility (with higher nitrile content)
Low tensile strength
Poor ozone/weather resistance
